The final damage: Solon 42, Mount Vernon 8.
The final yardage disparity: Solon 344, Mount Vernon 69.
Solon’s motto: Fast and physical. That’s a good recipe.
James Morris: That’s a good player. Four TDs ( 2 rushing, 1 receiving, 1 on a blocked punt).
The Spartans play Clear Creek Amana next week. Yikes.

Will this game be broadcast state wide by Mediacom?
Having watched this series since the 1960′s. This was an embarrassing performance by Mount Vernon. I arrived only a few minutes late and the score was already 13-0.
Positive spin for MV, though: They should be commended for getting the portable scoreboard in (Their regular scoreboard was not operational) and the sound and enthusiasm of their marching band has improved remarkably (or at least what they could show as all the breaks had piped music playing instead of a “pep” band-go figure).

Yes, it will be rebroadcast on a tape-delay basis. You’ll have to check your local listings for when.
Yeah, the portable scoreboard was a godsend. It was actually pretty easy to see from the press box. It was the second game for me in two years in which the big scoreboard was out. The other was a Week Zero game last year at Cascade.

Just one twist to the yikes. Solon plays Sigourney-Keota next, but MV Gets Regina coming off of a thrashing of Clear Creek Amana.
