Warriors are #8

The NISCA (that’s National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association, for those anti-acronym folks) rated the Cedar Rapids Washington boys’ swim team No. 8 nationally for the 2007-08 school year, for schools with enrollments of 1,401-1,900.

The Warriors were state champions for the 27th time.

Ames’ boys and girls’ both ranked 10th in the same enrollment bracket. Cedar Rapids Kennedy’s girls were 13th, Cedar Falls’ boys were 17th.

West Des Moines Valley’s girls were 13th in the big-school (1.900-plus enrollment).

Not bad for a cold-weather state, eh?
