Week 2 Game of the Week options

So I’m sitting here on a Labor Day off. The kids are outside, and the legs are sore after a Fifth Season 8K misadventure (i.e.: deciding to run).

Looking for a game Friday night. The options look a little slim.

Western Dubuque (1-0) at DeWitt Central (1-0): Good candidate, but one school is non-area and the other is “fringe.”

Center Point-Urbana (0-1) at Williamsburg (1-0): Looked better a week ago, before CPU got whacked by Benton Community.

West Delaware (1-0) at Beckman (0-1): Maybe the top candidate. I really want a 1-0 vs. 1-0 game, but Beckman’s Week 1 loss was close.

Sigourney-Keota (1-0) at Solon (1-0): Nice win for the Savage Cobras vs. Pekin last week. On the other hand, I saw Solon last week.

Turkey Valley (1-0) at Starmont (0-1): Trojans knocked off defending A state champ Wapsie Valley. Would look great had Starmont held off East Buchanan.

Clayton Ridge (1-0) at MFL MarMac (1-0): Both won close games last week. Still, it’s a long, long drive.

Any ideas? I’m not above bribery.

Being an old WaMac/Big Bend guy, I vote for West Delaware @ Beckman.

Thanks Greg, and that’s the way I was leaning until the morning.

I think it’s going to be Sigourney-Keota at Solon. Can’t ignore #6 at #1. Hoping the Dubuque T-H can help us at Dyersville.

Where were you an old Wamac/Big Bend guy at?

I’m a Maquoketa Cardinal. We moved from the WaMaC to the Big Bend between my junior and senior years, a long time ago.
