C.R. Invite: Looks like old times

The red storm has returned.

Iowa City High dominated the Cedar Rapids Invitational cross country meet Thursday. It looked like the old days, the Bud Williams days, when the Little Hawk boys took titles in this meet for granted.

City had won it every year from 1991 through 2004. But none since, until Thursday.

The Little Hawks scored 33 points, plastering defending state champion Pleasant Valley by 59. Five City runners finished in the top 10.

Oh, and City rolled by Iowa City West, 44-68, in the first meeting of the year for the girls.
