Notable: Top-rated MFL MarMac beat Turkey Valley for the third time this season to reach tonight’s game. The Bulldogs were state runners-up last year. Emily Blietz paces the Bulldogs at 16.3 points per game, Melissa Moon adds 11.7. Chanda Goedken, the lone senior on the Cascade roster, leads the team in scoring at 10.1 ppg. The Cougars allow 30.5 points per game.

Prediction: MFL MarMac 42, Cascade 35.

TIPTON (23-1) vs. MEDIAPOLIS (23-1)

Class, region: 2A Region 8

Time, site: 7 p.m., at Solon

Notable: Seventh-rated Tipton lost Missy Miller to a torn anterior cruciate ligament early in the season, but the wheels haven’t exactly fallen off for the 23-1 Tigers since. Tipton is 16-1 without her. Alicia Goetz (15.7 ppg) and Nicole Royer (10.8)
lead Tipton’s senior-dominated lineup. Four players average at least 9 ppg for 11-ranked Mediapolis, led by Abby Darbyshire (17.3 ppg).

Prediction: Tipton 49, Mediapolis 46.

MIDLAND (20-5) vs. SPRINGVILLE (23-1)

Class, region: 1A Region 8

Time, site: 7 p.m., at Anamosa

Notable: Top-ranked, defending state champion Springville has won 27 straight against 1A teams, including a 67-54 win over Midland Dec. 13. The Orioles feature 10 seniors, including the top seven scorers. Katie Eiben paces them at 16.2 ppg. Midland is balanced, with nine players averaging at least 4 points. Caitlin Bisinger leads at 12.0 ppg.

Prediction: Springville 53, Midland 39.
